When Luke first came to The Carpenter’s Arms, life was at breaking point. Now, 17 weeks on, he’s working hard to turn things around and build a future he can be proud of.
“My name is Luke Griffin. I was lost in addiction to crack for 11 years and lost everything, including my supervisor role at a recycling plant. My mum disowned me and I lost good friends. I’d been in The Carpenter’s Arms before and had the wrong attitude and left after 4 weeks. This time I really want this and I’m willing to do whatever it takes.
I’m now 17 weeks into the programme and I’m a Phase 2.5 resident. I’m a trusted kitchen manager and serve the guys every day.
My relationship with my mum has been restored and we speak regularly. It’s the best it’s ever been.
I’m aiming for a future in adult social care and I’m going to be doing a course whilst here to help prepare me for this.”
Luke is making the most of this second chance and taking steady steps towards a better life. We’re proud to support him on his journey.
