Lead sponsor announced for The Carpenter’s Arms’ addiction recovery celebration

Our annual celebration and expo, which takes place later this month, has received a welcome boost with the announcement that Ian King Financial Planning is to be the event’s lead sponsor.

The event involves presentations from the charity and its graduates, as well as an expo to inform about each stage of our programme, our fundraising and community outreach arms, and to showcase our new resin wood manufacturing arm.

Financial security is an important piece of the jigsaw when it comes to recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. As Richard Spence, Chief Executive Officer of The Carpenter’s Arms, explains,

“Whilst they’re on our programme, we encourage all our residents to have a firm focus on the present – what is that they can do today to improve the outlook for tomorrow? What do they need to focus on to improve their lives and the lives of their loved ones?

“The very generous sponsorship offered by Leicestershire businesses Ian King Financial Planning as our lead sponsor and Teddy’s Raw Pet Food as the sponsor of our graduate awards, means we can truly celebrate how far each of our graduates have come on their journeys in the most inspiring setting at the King Power Stadium.”

The Carpenter’s Arms Annual Celebration and Expo 2024 will take place at King Power Stadium on Friday, 21^st June. Guests include the Deputy Lieutenant of Leicestershire Professor Robert Allison CBE, who will also be presenting on the day, together with the new Mayor of Charnwood Julie Bradshaw MBE. Befitting of the choice of venue, former captain of Leicester City Football Club Steve Walsh will also be sharing his insights on overcoming adversity.

I'm the trustee of the Carpenter's Arms and, this year, I’m also the Mayor of Charnwood. I first met Brian and Judith when I was a Magistrate Chairman of the Drug Rehabilitation Committee. The most rewarding experience was when I finished sitting on the bench and watched the amazing successes at The Carpenter’s Arms in capacity as a trustee. To sit and listen to the clients tell their stories, what they have done and how they have come out the other side with new beginnings, I think for me is the most rewarding.
