Our 29-bedroom site at our Six Hills property (the home of our Phase 2 programme – where we get to grips with a resident’s root causes of addiction) includes various recreational areas: two TV areas, video games, pool and table-tennis. There is also a gym with sauna and steam shower. What is lacking however, is somewhere other than bedrooms for the men to be able to sit quietly and read or study, or perhaps play board games.
We have the ideal space to create a library, currently unused except to walk from one area of the building to another during the day. This space needs gutting and refurbishing to become fully usable as a quiet space.

Expected outcomes and outputs
- Encourage residents to learn to occupy their time differently from how they have in the past.
- Equip residents with new skills for their future.
- Provide a space to come together and socialise.
- Create a friendly and informal space where practitioners and members of the local community can offer informal talks, book readings, art workshops etc.
